so, here's the first of many posts about cha. but this is the strangest coincidence, so it gets first billing:
making memories has licensed this very cool new cutting system called the slice. here's a link to a you tube demonstration. anyway they were giving out at least 100 of them to random folks wearing the tee. saw a lot of those tees the whole time we were there. and they also gave them out at their daily drawings where you got a ticket stub.
there were six of us on mk's scrapbook destination store pass there, 5 of us from denver (mk natch, vivian, heather, houston, me) and our newest honorary colorado girl erin.
so day one, we were walking along, heather being the only one wearing a tee in the group of us, heather wins the slice (i was there):
and then day two, at the drawing, with heather's ticket, erin wins the slice (i was there):
and day three, early in the day houston grabs a tee for herself and me. asks heather to rub it on her lucky body. i don't put my tee on. :) houston does. then sees the team heading out with 4 bags. we follow them but decide to try and cut them off at the pass. thanks technique tuesday! :) houston wins a slice (i was there):
and a bit later in the day, just before heather, viv, and houston are heading to the air port, viv wins a slice (i was there):
houston screams, mary kay comes running around the corner to see what's up with houston, and bingo, mk wins a slice, seconds after viv has been stunned into silence (i was there):
so you notice anything about this pattern?
at first we thought it was heather. it still might be. but i was there every time a slice was won. every time. so you know what i did the last day? i wore my tee shirt and went to the drawing at 11. mk texted me because i was late, but i got there just in time to get a ticket before the drawing started. i was talking to a lady and thought i'd heard my number but wasn't sure. i asked the guy to say that again. it was my number. i don't have a picture because, well, i took all the other pictures myself. and my arm isn't long enough to get pictures of myself with my dslr. so we recreate the moment without the actual screaming. i'll get that picture posted in the near future.
so was it me? am i the talisman? that would make me happy, as talisman is a very cool word that brings to mind my sister and harry belafonte :). what do you think?
and now we have to wait until july when they ship. but we'll all have a little slice party this summer, erin HAS to come visit her family now!
