92 minutes

the bolder/boulder is a big deal race here in the state of colorado. it's a 10K, i've only done a 5K before, but i figured i probably would be able to do a 10K, it's only double. if you've been reading my blog regularly, you know i can't stop talking about walking and pedometers, so i was hoping that since i've been trying to up my walking, i'd be fine for the race.

we had signed up the walk/jogging wave, expected finish time 100-110 minutes. we could have strolled a little more! it was a rainy day in bouldertown, but that was perfect for a race. no hot pavement or glaring sun. the memorial day tribute to the soldiers of our nation brought tears to our eyes. poor ethan didn't know what to do with a crying mommy. heather was a great partner to race with. she didn't complain when i said walk now. we had plenty to chat about. we kept the pace pretty much the same the entire race, a 14:54 mile. kind of weird to see how steady we were at each mile marker. we got these tags that we attached to our shoes that recorded our time each time we crossed another mile. we were very consistant.

really, i feel a bit sore and that's about it. i think i did quite well. and i'll definitely do it again next year!

here's some pictures courtesy my fabulous husband. he's really getting good at getting the shots i like for the scrapbooking pages. he's done a good job at paying attention to what i like in a picture. he's even taking pictures on angles now. he's a good man!

this is us at the drop off point:

and just before kilometer 4, i look like i'm saying "my people!" what's up with the raised hands? i kept doing that. i never do that.

here we are just before mile 5:

one of the banners, notice how i'm color coordinated:

and here we are at the end of race, i'm so glad i didn't use the straightening iron before the race:

and the dilemma of what to wear wasn't really a dilemma at all. i took melanie's advice and went with capris. with pockets, even better. and a bright lime green shirt so i could easily spot myself in any crowd pictures i may be seen in. i was colorful. so thanks for worrying with me, but i guess i didn't really need to worry that much.
