running hotdogs

i'm going to be in this crowd in 3 days. it's the bolder/boulder 10K and i'm so very excited. now i don't think i'll be getting any awards or anything for doing this, after all i am not from kenya and i'm really not a runner by any stretch of the imagination. but i do walk a lot and i have done a 5K before so i think i'll be ok for a little longer race. i have thought about doing this race for a couple of years, this year i finally signed up for it and just picked up my packet on tuesday. it made me giddy to pull out that tee shirt and read all the directions.

you know what stresses me out most? i have no idea what to wear. i don't like my legs in shorts, i don't want to look like a first time 10Ker, i don't want to be wearing the wrong kind of clothes. i know it's silly. so today i went to the website to get some idea of what i was up against. i was greeted by a running hotdog. i think whatever i decide to wear, i'll be just fine. i think i saw an ozzy osbourne wannabe. i know i'll be fine.

i'm in the walk/jogging wave with my good friend heather. the entry was her mother's day present from her family. how cool is that? we expect to be finished in 110 minutes, and i'm guessing we'll be a little bit faster than that. the adrenaline from
a race like this propels me faster than my daily treadmill ever could. and having a friend there to push and encourage will help as well.

oh and i'll post pictures. i promise.

that's just cool. really really cool. I'll be admiring you from over here in denver. I've been in boulder for the race once and I have vowed to never return.

you could run in wedding dresses in protest against domestic violence.

Alice Cooper. I believe that was an Alice Cooper wannabe.

Good for you guys!! You'll do great, whatever you decide to wear. And remember, slow and steady wins the race. :)
I suggest capri yoga pants, they look good on everyone!

LOL! I think it's funny that you worried about what to wear. I would do that too.

Good luck to you and Heather!
