studio calico and low waisted pants

ok, they really have nothing in common, but they were the two things on my mind tonight.

you know when you hit that seasonal changeover in your clothing? when you can't wear the shorts and capris anymore because it's just a little too cold, when you have to pull out the pants from last winter? you know the feeling you have when you try on that first pair and you are overjoyed when they fit, sometimes better than the last time you wore them 6 months ago? i don't have this issue with shirts, just pants...

all spring and summer i wore eddie bauer's vashon fit capris. i LOVED them, i bought a pair in almost every color. they were really comfortable, and i haven't always worn really comfortable clothing. struggling with my weight hasn't been good for choosing clothing, so i will just deal with what i can find most of the time. but in january, i found the vashon fit and i fell in love. so vashon is a low waisted pant fit and i've always worn my pants/capris at or above waist level. it just felt safer that way. i wouldn't show off anything i didn't want to be seen. i thought waist high fit was pretty comfy.

until this week when i pulled out my waist fit pants. man, those are HIGH waisted pants! so i concede, low waisted pants are more comfortable. julie, you were right. :) note: they aren't super low, which i appreciate, they are just a little bit lower. i think i'll have to head over to eddie bauer for some more pants... :)

now on to the other half of my title: STUDIO CALICO.

monday is the november kit reveal. FOUNTAIN SQUARE! if you liked my sneaks, you will get to see the entire layouts AND the entire kit and addons at midnight EST (that's 10 pm for me here in MST). you just need to go to studio calico to see the kits and the gallery tab to see the whole dt's work along with our guest designer donna downey. yay, i can't wait!

and check back to my blog in the next couple of days. i'll have a sweet surprise :) there's also a studio calico give away if you get a friend to join, yummy AC stuff.

oh and there's a giveaway on the studio blog as well, post how you are going green and you could win a pack of tinkering ink's becoming green line of papers. lots of fun stuff happening

I totally agree about the high waisted pants. Once you have worn the lower waisted ones, you don't want the others! Can't wait for the reveal tonight and you surprise in a few days!

I am beyond excited about tonight! And I'm REALLY sick right now. So I shouldn't be staying up so late. So... I'll be sleeping ALL DAY LONG, in order to not pass out at 11pm while I'm buying SC goodies!

And I love low-waisted pants too, but not TOO low. Lower than my belly button. Not so low that you can see my cute Gap panties. :p My favorite jeans are Long and Lean from Gap and Mia from Express. Yummy!

Mid-rise pants are the best! Especially when having a squatty body as I do. I hate pants that go past my belly button :)

I am going green by continuing my efforts to make changes. I already use reusable grocery bags and I am looking into an option to make my own laundry detergent at the moment.

OOOH! Comment #2 from me. You're special!! Not sure if you get Real Simple magazine, but... there is a 15% off coupon for Eddie Bauer in there this month. I can always send you mine. I don't even know where the nearest Eddie Bauer is! Should I?! ;)

Great giveaway! I am 38 and although I don't have the Eddie Bauer pants (intrigued tho and might have to hunt them down!!!) I DO wear low waisted jenas and pants and don't like the high waist anymore!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
