back from california and my first article is here!

i'll update on our fantastic family getaway as the week progresses, but i just had to share this first: my first article in scrapbook and cards today is out and i am beyond excited about it! you can download a copy from the website, get a copy from your LSS, or you can subscribe; by whatever means you like, i just want you to get your hands on it! i'm on page 14 :) i'm so grateful to kerry and catherine for this amazing opportunity!

and i'll leave you with the full versions of my april studio calico layouts. i got the peter piper add on and i'd highly recommend it, i have 2 inches of the orange cosmo paper left. the main kit was definitely outside of my comfort zone colorwise, but a fun kit to work with nonetheless, i love where it took my creativity level!

this is something i've been wanting to scrap for a few months. i learned something about my daughter that day, she's not at all afraid of worms. they pooped on her hand and yet she continued to rescue them from a sure death by drowning. how can i not love this girl?

that fact was cemented when we did a mini photo shoot. her friend hayley had asked for a picture of annie and so we ran outside and took a few quicky shots. she started getting silly and i got some hilarious pictures, just have to giggle at this one. it was NOT planned that her glasses and shirt matched the paper so well, she just happens to have fantastic taste in colors...

this was the peter piper add on, i got the lyrics for the air force fight song and copy and pasted them to make a background for the page, very fun look. i'd heard that if the weather was good, the air force always does a fly over for their home games. i was intrigued. i got an email from BYU saying they would be playing the air force here in CO. i was thrilled. we bought tickets, made a weekend out of it, had lovely weather, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, even though we are not football fans in the least. i was impressed by how much i did remember about the game in general though...

and because i ran out of time before we left for california, this was my last layout. pictures from a couple of years back, one of those really neat memories that worked so well with the kit, i used the stickers from the hey diddle (no longer available) add on, along with a little bit of the main. it's a nice peaceful layout and i got some older photos scrapped :)

i'm happy to be home, my calendar is already filling up, amazing how that happens. i'll update with trip photos soon.

thanks for reading my blog :)

LOVED your article in SCT. Love your LOs here, mle! And your vacation pics are great. Too funny about Disney. Part of the "problem" is that you guys don't have cable... how on earth would your kids have the requisite pre-visit brainwashing that is needed to make that place "magical"? :P

(Does the question mark go inside or outside the quotation marks in that case? I always get confused.)
