so happy march is here!

it means february is over! what a crazy-busy-full month in our household. ham radio classes, church basketball, renovating a bathroom, finishing a school art project, doing projects for school, prepping a piano studio for competition, completing scrapbooking assignments, putting together slides for presentations. that's just the things i can think of off the top of my head that consumed our family last month. it was crazy and about did me in. but march is here and i hope it will be better.

the bathroom is nearly finished, just needs some finishing touches, like a vase and flowers, and some other orange accents. annie did a fabulous job, she's an amazing kid.

the moose. well annie's art teacher gave her and a couple of other girls the assignement to make a very large animal out of found sticks. they chose a moose and didn't finish it in school so i came home to her friend's house where it sat unfinished for a couple of months. february came and michelle's parents said moose must go, so the girls worked very hard putting the rest of the moose together. it was a huge project, based on the artist deborah butterfield's work.

ham radio. ethan wanted to get his ham radio license. they were teaching classes every saturday from early january until the middle of february at 8 am. ethan couldn't attend without an adult, so i volunteered to be the lucky adult. we took the test on valentine's day. he almost passed. he tried again, almost again. the ironic part of this whole story? i took the test, and now i'm the ham in our home. he'll try again. he'll pass. i know he will. i know you're dying to know my ham call sign. it's KD0GNZ. has a nice ring to it :)

slide prep and manuscripts. that's kelly's job description right now. he's a little weary of writing at the moment. he also was instrumental in pushing annie forward in her bathroom remodeling. he wanted our bathroom back. he's a good dad.

scrapbooking assignment. i can't say this was a hard part of the month. this month's kit was fabulous. i loved everything i made. that's unusual for me.

one highlight from the month. bob dorough. the guy who wrote conjunction junction and i'm just a bill. we got to take the kids to dazzle, a jazz club in denver, to see this guy. it was sooo very cool. we got to sing "conjunction junction, what's your function?" and he'd sing the rest. it was beyond cool actually.

a second highlight would be my piano studio's performance in the NTMA's piano festival. it was a lot of work on my part, but i did nothing compared to the work that my students put into learning and memorizing two pieces of music. they all did extremely well. i'm really proud of them.

and stay tuned. studio calico sold out of their march kit and addons SO fast, they may be offering a limited number of reorders, if they can get product from the various manufacturers. i'll keep you posted.

I just loooove that "a girl and a boy" layout. Destined to be pubbed, I think!

I don't know what is more awesome, the LOs you just shared (I agree with Lisa about "A Boy & A Girl) or the fact that you met the Schoolhouse Rock guy :)
