the past two weeks have been full of scrapping when i could sneak it in. i had my SCT fall article layout due on the 15th, my SCT guest blogger layout and project due on the 17th, my AC design team submission due on the 20th, and my SC august kit projects due mid next week. i finished the first three, and even though i was supposed to be concentrating on them exclusively, i did scrap a bit from the gorgeous SC august kit, over the rainbow. it was just too tempting. :) since i can't show you my article layout (so excited about this feature! look for it in september, i think.), and i can't show you my guest blogger stuff (i'll post a link to it on monday though.), i can show you my AC work. i love this company, it just made me happy working with the papers in concentration this past week. they are happy papers. so here you go!
my card:
layout 1 of 2 featuring the cityscape all cut up and turned topsy-turvy. i loved that paper when it was one sheet, i love it even more cut up. i have plans for the scraps:
layout 2 of 2 featuring the christmas line with a whitewash over it, to tone down the pattern just a bit:
and my project, a laminated purse. i don't like to do projects that i'm not going to use again, so while i should have been napping, i started scheming on this purse. it turned out exactly like i'd hoped (well, it did require a modification after i went a little clown-crazy on the design, but it's the end result that counts.), i love how funky it is. the orange paper was a special AC print for a studio calico kit back in the fall. i've saved it because i loved it so much, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to pull it out and feature it.
there you have it. i'm not normally this brave to put out there that i'm trying out for one of the most coveted design teams around, but since a few of my good friends shared their work--and thus the fact that they were trying out--i figured i'd be in good company, even if i don't get picked this time around.
and about those SC sneaks, those should be posted midweek, be on the lookout.
P.S. the food bank went really well on friday. i'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good service project. we're going back next friday and many days in august as well, got to get those hours wrapped up before school starts. the kids loved it. i was rather humbled. and i apologize to MK for thinking she was being sarcastic.
