this layout is about my grandmother. we don't know anything about the picture, but my mom's comment was priceless when i asked her about it, i decided to scrap it anyway. my grandma was a very strong woman, i learned so much from her and her example. she loved God and Jesus. she was thrifty. she was creative. she thirsted for knowledge. she never preached, just lived the way she knew she needed to live to be a righteous daughter of God. for her, i am thankful.

this layout is my all time favorite. i think it's because of the picture and the journaling. someone on the SC message boards had asked me about my new avatar, the journaling is my answer. then someone suggested i make a layout w/ it as well. this was born. it took some finagling, but the end result is exactly. captures the moment perfectly. do you love the hanging clouds as much as i do? :) and who knew, my eyes are faded jeans blue. :) i used the multi-medium gel to attach the journaling strips, i just wanted a rougher look. and the misting, ah, the misting. i did a bunch of layers with the two colors and love how it looks. it's an accessory now, i can do that.
and this final layout happened by accident. i was inking the letters with the blending tool, when i finished, i looked at the scrap paper i was using and notice how much it looked like the blended colors in the swiss franc. i practiced a little and voila! i created a blended ink journaling block. i love it when an experiment works :) we are a goofy family, that's all i have to say about that.
a close up of the blending technique: main kit, adirondack, blending tool, mustard seed, peeled paint,
faded jeans, worn lipstick, and pumice, bumpy road punch.
and just a heads up, the june kit partly sunny is still not sold out as well as joyland. so if you think you missed out, you didn't :) but could.
later!
