a few projects for you featuring HOMETOWN

{warning: don't hate me because i get to play with this paper. i'm going to sound like i'm shamelessly plugging this paper and maybe i am, but you're going to LOVE it when you get your hands on it as well.}

i have to say that working with this new line has really surprised me. i saw the sneaks, i LIKED the paper, but working with it, this paper and i have reached a state of adoration (well, maybe not the paper loving me, i AM slicing it up, you know.).

it has coffee stains on it. not from me. i don't drink coffee. they are printed on it. you know when you spill coffee on your morning newspaper and quickly wipe it up? that's what it looks like. and for some reason, that has stolen my heart. :) i find it very cool.

another thing, it's making me want to distress. not too much, but i don't often want to pull out my heidi swapp little pink distressing disc or my basic grey files. i can't stop thinking about how i can do that on layouts as well!

and i like every side of every piece. and i'm a self professed 'b-side' lover. but not this time. so while i don't have much to share because i've been spending my time looking at the paper instead of really creating, i do have a couple of things to show off:

a card i made for stephanie howell, who's husband was deployed yesterday. she's the sweetest friend.

close up of the beading:

and my first project ever, a pencil holder. it's perfect for my piano side table, and it will keep me organized when i am teaching (were it that easy!). i even used MODGE PODGE. :)

i just got off the phone with kerry lynn yeary, a fellow OA dt member, and can i just tell you, she's delightful. i knew that, we had worked together for a bit at last cha, but today just confirmed my opinion of her. i'm a better person today because of her insight. so thanks kl. you should go check out her blog, i bet she'll be posting some of her OA creations...

now it's off to the pool so i can keep my good mommy status and then back to the scrap table...

You are a funny girl. I think because I read what you write and think to myself, "Is she writing about me?" Except for the distressing stuff. : )

Adore the pencil holder. And the sweet card for a sweet girl!
