sharing my good news

permission to share has been granted! while at cha, vivian and i had the privilege of visiting one night with these two ladies, kerry mcrorie and catherine tachdjian, editor and publisher of scrapbook and cards today out of toronto. somehow the topic turned to grammar and my idiosyncratic way of anwering the question, "how are you?" if i ever ask you that, say well not good. it's the whole adverb/adjective thing...
anyway, if you have not seen this magazine, published quarterly, distributed for free by your LSS, please start hunting for it. or if your LSS is no longer L or they don't carry it, you need to download a copy of it from the website.
i could go on and on about how classy this magazine is, these two just know how to make a designer feel like they are the most amazing thing in the world, the paper they use is nice and thick, the way your layout gets a lot of white space around it, the fact you get a personal note of thanks when they return your artwork, it all adds up to make it one of the best publications i've seen in the scrapbooking industry. and i'm not just saying that because


they asked me to write a column for every issue called "I Spy with Emily" that focuses on trends in the scrapbooking industry!

i am beside myself with joy! i majored in english, focusing on editing/writing and minored in linguistics and computers. i love the english language and now i have an excuse to dust off the difference between lay and lie! i'm so happy to pull out my english usage book that i saved from college. and to combine my obsession for scrapbooking with my love for writing is a dream come true! so thank you catherine and kerry for thinking of and putting your trust in me.

my first article will be coming out in the spring issue, which goes to press on march 1st, so be looking for it soon after. yay! i'm so excited.
