longer ago than i care to mention, the delightful kim hughes sent me a stamp set to play with. her only request? post what i did on my blog. i did a few things, but they just didn't turn out. i'd stamp, try and color w/ watercolors, colored pencils, and markers. it just looked tacky. i have never denied my inability to work well with stamps, they are just something that i struggle with. i can do the alphas, but anything else forces me outside my comfort zone. i was lamenting this fact with kim at cha last week and she gave me permission to just play. apparently, that was all i needed. i ended up creating some really cute accents for this page that doubles as a journaling challenge and a designer lift challenge of tina aszmus at studio calico. i just love how the helicopters turned out. so thank you kim, i guess i just needed the permission! i will definitely be playing with these more in the future. to recreate these, buy the stamps here: cornish heritage farms, stamp the helicopter twice on white cardstock, twice on blue, once on red, and once on green. then cut out inside the lines of the red/green/white images to fill in the blue images as needed. i love the look!
i promise, i'll edit my cha pictures soon! and i have exciting news to share, i just have to make sure i can share it :)
