with a stop on the hop for studio calico's new HOME FRONT

welcome to my stop on the studio calico blog hop! i'm so excited to share with you what i've done with the new home front papers, stickers, and fabRips, but first, let me share with you a bit of my home. this is my kitchen. i don't spend as much time here as i probably should, but it is one of my favorite rooms because of my chicken collection. the chickens have followed me from our washington state home, where i had chickens and chef wallpaper. my sister made me the embroidered towels for a christmas gift and i've just added to collection here in colorado. they make me smile every time i see them. i also love my red breadbox and my black pitcher full of cooking utensils.

now, the reason you're here... i have to admit i was a little stumped by this paper at first, not quite sure what to do, but once i started cutting paper, i couldn't get this page done fast enough. it was so much fun to put these lamps together! using the fabRips to make accordion pleated lampshades made me very happy. :) now i'm seeing lots of possibilities with this paper, i just had to make the first cut. i love this layout!

so here's how you win...
Studio Calico is sharing part of their home with you by sponsoring a giveaway of their brand new line, Home Front. Imagine June Cleaver styled 1950s domestic bliss. As far as your layout, I am so impressed with your genius ideas of dressing those lamps up with accordion pps and love your chickens too. BTW, I haven't really seen the album for the song and still looking so will keep you informed. Thanks for sharing that beautiful layout.

OMG! First I have to say how incredibly AWESOME those lamps are! Wonderful!

And I had to think of holiday songs for a bit (ie search the collection since it's been nearly a year) and came up with a little acapella group called Tonic Sol-Fa. You might have actually heard of them, they are from MInnesota. Anyway, their Christmas songs are so fun to listen too!

Renay said...

Absolutely adore your LO with all the lamps! Going straight to my favorites! And my favorite holidays song might seem kinda wrong, but I think 'grandma got runover by a reindeer' is hilarious. Not sure who sings it, and there may be multiple artists (or goofballs might be a better description) who have tackled this. I take a strange cynical approach to the holidays I'm afraid - my favorite Christmas movie is the Grinch too - I'm weird that way.
