what do you think? :) this month's studio calico kit was so very me, i couldn't have loved it anymore than i did. i think i may have bumped out garment district as one of my top three. lovely rich fall colors, but some very happy yellows that didn't restrict it to only autumn layouts. so, let me walk you through my november gallery :). this one is a two pager. we were in switzerland, waiting at the interlaken train station to take a bus to the outdoor museum called ballenberg. i saw this garbage can, it was hanging on the wall, looking mighty artsy. i had to take a picture. and getting it scrapped like this makes me very happy. |
napa valley + santa cruz (sold out) + tiny attacher + stazOn + zig zag border punch |
my daughter brings delight to my life everyday. this is just one example. we were at DSW looking for black pumps for the choir concert earlier this month. i must always check the sale section first, i'm frugal you know. she found these cute flats. and well, the journaling tells the rest of the story. i stamped the "bumble" with paint, i love the roughed up feel it added. the stars are misted with mr. huey warm calico.
napa valley + santa cruz (sold out) + blank canvas paint + zig zag border punch |
this one is inspired by chrissie. she loved butterflies. ronda and i met just after she passed away and i think this quote works perfectly to describe our friendship. i didn't want to take away from the background, so i made an envelope to hold the journaling (and no, it's not there yet. i still need to write it up :P). i'll be making a tutorial for this for the SC blog. i'll post here when that goes up.
napa valley + brown stazOn + mr. hueys calico cream, calico white, and applejack + super seal + zig zag border punch |
and finally, this was a gamble, but it worked. i spread a thin layer of gesso on the dictionary paper, then stamped the grid stamp from santa cruz all over the place. then i let it dry and sprayed water over that, then mr. huey lunch tray. using a paintbrush, i blended the mist all over the dried gesso. the water allowed the mist to not settle right away. once it was all dry, i realized it would be really tough to write one. so i tried it through my HP wide format, the test run is behind the photo :) it worked! yay :) i also needed my title to stand out a bit, so i sanded it like nik harper. fun :) i used the inside bits of the crate paper border among the leaves.
napa valley + santa cruz (sold out) + gesso + martha maple leaf punch + mr. huey lunch tray and although there are a lot of punches sold out, there are still a few available in the shop, and you can use this coupon until the 20th of november. i suggest you head over and take a look, i think i'm going to get the hydrangea punch. i've been eyeing that one for a long long time. the tag punch may be coming home too... |

I love these pages, Emily!! I agree with Christine, that Family Run one is my fave! :)
I love all of these, but I love that butterfly page! Great misting skills!! Gorgeous!
Your layouts are just incredible this month Emily. :)
Utter fabulousness! Funny story: I overhear Tommy telling Molly that she was a genius today because she figured out how to open a box of craft supplies. Apparently it runs in the family (you pick, being a genius or the tendency to over-compliment) :D
your style is just gorgeous:) especially love the one of your and ronda:)
Seriously - how clever are you?! The leaves on the "family run" page look like a strip of patterned paper but add so much more texture and interest. So fabulous!
